Mary Forrest Consultant Clinical Psychologist

Are you experiencing the loss of a pet or caring for an animal approaching the end of their life? Our bereavement support service, led by Consultant Clinical Psychologist Mary Forrest, is here to support your mental and emotional wellbeing during these difficult times.
Key Features
This service came about from conversations with local veterinarians and Veterinary Physiotherapist Tanya Sprunks, who recognised that there is a need for compassionate, emotional support for owners of animals during the difficult period of preparing for end of life and coping afterwards. Our aim is to stand by you through some of the most challenging moments you may face as an animal carer.
Mary has over twenty five years of working as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS and more recently has been running workshops for veterinary staff in supporting owners during end of life care.
Mary offers psychological support designed especially for pet owners coping with grief or caring and planning for pets nearing the end of their lives. Confidential sessions provide a safe space to explore and process emotions, with a focus on improving your overall wellbeing. We recognise that pet loss is often underestimated, and our service makes it easier to access the help you need.
Sessions are arranged online so you can attend them from the comfort of your own home. You will be sent instructions on how to do this by email. If you are unsure how to do this, please just ask and we will be happy to help.
