Tanya Sprunks is a highly respected Veterinary Physiotherapist specialising in the management of canine osteoarthritis. With a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Physiotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma completed in 2020, Tanya combines academic excellence with deep clinical insight. Her published research; “Pulsed Shortwave Electromagnetic Field Therapy Increases Quality of Life in Canines with Symptoms of Osteoarthritis", appears in Veterinary Medicine and Science, contributing to the growing evidence base for advanced pain management in companion animals (see below link).
Tanya runs several successful physiotherapy clinics across Devon, where she delivers evidence-based rehabilitation for dogs with mobility challenges. She is a proud Canine Arthritis Management (CAM) Advisor and a lecturer for The College of Animal Physiotherapy, where she shares her knowledge with aspiring practitioners.
Before entering the veterinary field, Tanya served as a senior officer in the Metropolitan Police, earning two Commendations for life-saving actions. She also holds a Master’s in Public Administration, reflecting her commitment to leadership and public service. Today, she channels her experience, compassion, and love of animals into educating dog owners, helping them recognise signs of pain and discomfort and empowering them to support their pets’ recovery.
Tanya’s greatest passions are improving animal wellbeing and spending time with her two dogs, Scout (11yr old, female rescue dog) and Sage (3yr old, female, Golden Retriever).Published Paper

She will use her education, experience and skills to show people how to improve the lives of their dogs using positive reinforcement and free/force free methods only.
Her ethics are strong and she will not harm or inflict fear on any animal. Ruth will encourage people to do the same for the welfare of the animals we choose to have in our lives.
Pain & Behaviour Clinics
Tanya and Ruth run occasional joint Pain & Behaviour Clinics designed to help you understand whether your dog’s behavioural challenges are purely behavioural or may be linked to underlying pain.
These clinics offer a collaborative assessment, combining behavioural insight with clinical expertise. Following the session, you will be signposted to the most appropriate pathway for your dog, whether that’s behaviour support, pain management, physiotherapy, or a combination of approaches.
Our aim is to ensure your dog receives the right help, from the right professionals, at the right time.
